S1 Final

1. Photoshop Tutorials

What was the project?

We watched these tutorials step by step and apply to our version of the thing in photoshop. It was to help us understand and how to use photoshop, so when we use it, we know what to do.

How long did it take?

It took me forever. I was so confused, and I stuff weren't looking like the pictures in the videos.

What did I learn?

I learned so much. I learned how to do content aware fill, the patch tool, spot healing brush, layers, extensions, retouch, mask, refine, color and tone, warp, combine photos, opacity, lights and shadows, and the circle thing at the bottom of the layers panel.

Feedback?

I feel pretty good of what I did. Sure, it took me a long time, but I was able to learn and get a little used to it.

Overall Opinion and Final Outcome

I liked what I did and I want to improve my skills because, well, it needs work.

2. Raccoon

What was the project?

We learned how to use illustrator, and use the tools to make a raccoon and  postcard.

How long did it take?

I don't remember how long it took me, but I know that it took me a while. I probably took 2-3 weeks to do it.

What did I learn?

I learned how to use the direct selection tool, the shapes, effects, strokes, transform, pathfinder, and color tools.

Feedback?

I don't know what other people said, but I would give myself an okay job. It's not the best, and there were some like space I didn't fill out. But, I think I did a pretty good job on my postcard.

Change?

I didn't change anything, but if i do change it, I would just fix it up.

Overall Opinion and Final Outcome

I think I did alright for my first time.

3. Self Portrait

What was the project?

In Illustrator, we learned how to vector and use the pen tool. With this, we made a self portrait.

How long did it take?

This too took me forever. I was here after school almost everyday.

What did I learn?

I learned how to use to vector, the pen tool, eyedropper, and how to try to make it look like me.

Feedback?

Honestly, it could have been better. But, I did pretty good. I would start over on in, and do the the hair right, because I did not try on the hair.

Overall Opinion and Final Outcome

I like it and it was to fun to make. I enjoyed it and would do it again.

4. Infographic

What was the project?

The project was to use all our knowledge from the project before, and create our own infographic. My infographic was on these three men who escaped from Alcatraz back then.

How long did it take?

This one also took me a while. I took forever, that I turned it in late. I think we were given a month to finish?

What did I learn?

The new things that I learned were how to use guides and rulers, how to organize, the use of color and font, and size. I also learned what makes a good infographic; clear design, focused data, has an easy message, etc.

Feedback?

It's too busy. Then towards the end where it talks about the survival and all that below it, I got lazy.

Overall Opinion and Final Outcome

This is a good project to do, however I should've put all I got into it, so that I could be happy with what I made.

5. Graphic Design History

This is what our class is working on. Each student is writing a paper and making a presentation on important people or movements that helped shape graphic design today. I'm working on Armin Hofmann, a graphic designer.
